After a busy week of traveling to Florida and Arkansas with my Fiancé, returning to the crisp, clean sea air of Northern California has welcomed me home with fresh clarity. I’m savoring the gentle rain that nourishes the earth and the way spring bulbs push their way up, bringing color and life to the fields around me. Spring has a way of feeling both refreshing and grounding, and I love bringing that energy into my home in simple, natural ways.
One of my favorite ways to celebrate the season indoors is by using large branches in glass vases or single floral elements (think hellebore, ranunculus) to create a striking yet calming display. Tall budding branches, whether foraged from the outdoors or picked up at a local flower market, have such an elegant structure. They instantly add height, texture, and a feeling of connection to nature within any space.
For those wanting to try this at home, all you need is a tall glass vase or even a large candle holder with a wide enough opening to support the branches. I found my vases at a thrift store, which is a fantastic budget-friendly option! Clear glass works beautifully because it lets the natural beauty of the stems shine through, but ceramic or stone vases can also add an organic feel. Simply trim the branches to fit your space, remove any leaves that will sit below the waterline, and place them in fresh water. Change the water every few days to keep them looking their best. If you are finding you need more structure in your vessel try incorporating smaller multi branch sticks at the base, this helps support the longer branches.
As for the closet I have been eyeing delicate looks that can transition to being easy warm enough for market time and pick ups. I am hoping to wear more dresses this spring paired with easy slides and cozy knits.
